WARD VILLAGE® ANNOUNCES TWO NEW RESTAURANTS AT THE PARK WARD VILLAGE
Rigo debuts its second location; ‘Āina Bowls launches new açaí health bar with the opening of Ward Village’s ninth residence this summer
HONOLULU (May 7, 2026) — Ward Village, the award-winning destination in the heart of Honolulu to live, shop, dine, and explore, will welcome two new restaurants at The Park Ward Village, the neighborhood’s ninth residence, opening this summer. Local favorite Rigo will introduce a new dining concept with a menu specially crafted for Ward Village, and ‘Āina Bowls, a new açaí and health food-focused establishment. The Park Ward Village will feature more than 30,000 square feet of retail and dining, with ground-floor spaces designed to activate Ward Avenue and integrate outdoor dining with Victoria Ward Park, further enhancing Ward Village’s mix of shopping and public spaces.
“Ward Village has become one of Honolulu’s most celebrated destinations for award-winning restaurants, combining recognizable favorites with Hawaiʻi-specific concepts as no other neighborhood has,” said Taylor Herring, General Manager of Ward Village. “Rigo and ‘Āina Bowls are the first of several exciting food establishments at The Park Ward Village, our newest residence and ground-floor commercial opening this May.”

Ward Village will be home to Rigo’s second O‘ahu location, expanding upon the success of its flagship location on Kapahulu. Its new 4,808 square-foot ground-floor space is designed by WRNS Studio. Featuring the Spanish and Italian cuisine that have distinguished the restaurant for seven years, The Park Ward Village location will introduce a brand-new concept for Rigo, offering a fusion menu that places equal emphasis on the Spanish-Italian dishes that have made it a local favorite alongside a dedicated selection of Japanese soba.
“The demand for dining in Ward Village is strong, so we were thrilled for the opportunity to expand Rigo through a second location in Honolulu at The Park Ward Village,” said James Otake, general manager of Rigo. “Our new concept is exclusive for Ward Village, introducing menu items we know the neighborhood will love with the same creativity and sophistication that is our hallmark.”

Opening its first location at The Park Ward Village, ‘Āina Bowls will feature fresh, health-focused foods with high-quality ingredients, such as thoughtfully sourced protein bowls, vibrant salads and other nutrient-forward menu items designed for convenience and to fit into daily routines. The new concept is tentatively scheduled to open in March 2027.
“ʻĀina Bowls was created from the belief that convenience shouldn’t mean compromise. We wanted to build something better — food that’s full of flavor, rooted in thoughtful ingredients, and designed to energize and bring people together. Hawaiʻi has some of the best food in the world, yet eating well every day has often felt harder than it should be here,” said Shirley Lee, Founder of ʻĀina Bowls. “ʻĀina Bowls was born from that idea: creating a space centered around real ingredients, vibrant flavors, and community. The name says it all. ʻĀina means the land, but it also reflects a responsibility to the people and places that call it home. Ward Village feels like exactly the right place for us to begin that journey.”
The Park Ward Village will open in May 2026 and introduce 545 new homes adjacent to Victoria Ward Park. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, with interiors by Yabu Pushelberg and landscape design by VITA Planning and Landscape Architecture, the project reflects Ward Village’s approach to a connected, walkable neighborhood that brings together residential living, open space and street-level experiences in Kakaʻako.
